physical activity for energy balance
Physical Activities ( I go swimming )
One substantial condition for finding our energy balance is our level of physical activities. We are ready to spend a lot of money every year for sportswear, equipment and Gym membership but we are basically not utilising them enough. We are very good in finding all kind of excuses for not moving our bodies. One of the most popular excuses it that we do not have time to exercise. But it's not about having time. It's about making time. You don't have to feel great to start, but you have to start to feel great.
Most of us are perfectly capable of following up business schedules but when it comes to sport we are ready to make compromises. This works for a while but when we realise that our "energy storage" got out of control, we get stressed. This stress increases over time and eats from our physical energy, leaving less and less energy for our physical activities. The only way out of this dilemma is to break this vicious circle and start exercising.
find something that motivates you
The older we get, the more important it becomes to exercise before our physical and mental "bank accounts" are empty. To fill it up again, we have to be patient. The key to success is taking it slowly and one step at a time. Our weak physical condition didn't develop in one day. It took some time to mess this up. So now we have to take our time to get back in shape.
It took 6 months for me to get back to a physical condition that allowed me to attend my first competitions. My first training sessions were not more than a good intention. It is important to increase the intensity of our training sessions week by week and to keep a record of it. During this time we have to slowly build up muscles to support our joints and bones in order to prevent injuries. Years ago I did the mistake of pushing my newly started training in the Gym too much too early. The result was a torn off meniscus in my right knee that had to undergo surgery. After that I had a good excuse not to go to the Gym for a while. Don't do it like this.
